Wat Sri Chum, also known as the Temple of the Bodhi Tree, is a significant site in the Sukhothai Historical Park. The temple features a giant seated Buddha image, known as 'Phra Achana' or 'Phra Poot Dai', which is over 11 meters wide and almost 15 meters high. The Buddha figure is housed in a roofless building with a specially designed mondop, allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of the impressive statue. According to legend, the temple played a role in ancient Sukhothai, where a king used the 'secret staircase' to make a speech to his troops, making it seem like the Buddha was speaking. The temple is a popular spot for visitors and a great place to learn about the history and culture of the area
