Karon Beach is a popular destination for tourists, known for its 3-kilometre stretch of white sand and decent choice of dining and nightlife. It is a family-friendly beach, offering various restaurants, bars, and affordable accommodations. The beach is generally quieter than neighbouring Patong and is especially popular with Scandinavian tourists. Karon Beach was heavily damaged by the tsunamis following the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake but has since largely recovered. Visitors can enjoy activities such as parasailing, spa treatments, and a visit to the nearby Karon Temple. The temple is beautifully crafted and open to visitors, hosting a famous market twice a week with lots of food and little things to buy. There is also a Dino Park mini-golf nearby, which is a Jurassic Park-inspired mini-golf with dinosaurs and a volcano, suitable for family fun
