Wat Rong Suea Ten, also known as the Blue Temple, is a temple in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand, known for its striking modern artistic design. The temple's construction was initiated by the local community to replace an old abandoned temple, and its final design was realized by local artist Phuttha Kabkaew. The temple is a fascinating fusion of traditional Buddhist values and classic Thai architecture with extremely contemporary design choices. The temple walls, roof, and surrounding statues are all covered in a brilliant shade of rich sapphire, symbolically associated with purity, wisdom, and the lack of materialism that Buddhists aspire to. Inside, the temple is a kaleidoscope of color and patterns, with elaborate and unbelievably intricate paintings completely covering every surface. The centerpiece of the space is a seated Buddha statue, made of shiny white porcelain that looks eerie and blue in the reflection of the room
