Wat Huay Pla Kang, also known as the Temple of Mercy, is a unique and impressive temple located on the outskirts of Chiang Rai. The temple is dominated by a massive 49-meter high statue of Kuan Im, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape from its 25th floor. The temple complex also features a white Thai-style viharn, a 9-story pagoda with a pyramid shape and Chinese-Lanna fusion architecture, and a hospital. The temple is a center of social welfare for the disadvantaged, including orphans and elderly people, and offers a unique blend of Thai, Chinese, and European influences. Visitors can enjoy the stunning views, explore the temple's intricate architecture, and learn about the importance of Kuan Im in Buddhist culture
