Sticky Waterfalls

Waterfall Mae Rim, Chiang Mai, Thailand

What to expect

The Sticky Waterfalls, also known as Bua Tong Waterfall, is a unique attraction located in the Sri Lanna National Forest. The waterfalls are special because of a mineral deposit that makes the rocks 'sticky' and allows visitors to climb directly up the rocks into the oncoming cascading water. The surrounding forest floor is coated with moss and small colorful flowers, and there are plenty of forest creatures like butterflies and water bugs. The waterfalls are an impressive sight, with cream-colored and bulbous rocks contrasting beautifully with the dark green forest, and crystal clear and cool water. Visitors can climb up the waterfalls, and there are also steep stairs that take you down the various levels of waterfalls. The area is great for a picnic, and there are drinks and light snacks for sale on the premises, as well as clean bathrooms. It's a great place to cool off in Thailand's heat and a challenge to your muscles
