What to expect

The Democracy Monument is a significant monument located in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. It was built in 1939 to commemorate the Siamese Revolution of 1932, which resulted in the establishment of a constitutional monarchy and the end of absolute monarchy in Thailand. The monument was designed by Chitrasen Aphaiwong and sculptured by Italian-born sculpture artist, Corrado Feroci. It is made of concrete and stands at 75 feet tall, with four wings extending outwards representing the four branches of the Thai armed forces: army, navy, air force, and police. The central structure is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures depicting the principles of democracy, including freedom, equality, and liberty
