The Artist House

Art center Bangkok Yai, Bangkok, Thailand

What to expect

The Artist House, also known as Baan Sinlapin or Baan Silapin, is a unique art gallery and puppet theater located in a traditional Thai wooden house by the Bangkok Yai Canal. The house has been restored and now features a large gallery space displaying art and photographs, a puppet theater, and a shop selling souvenirs and local handicrafts. Visitors can enjoy traditional Thai puppet shows, which are performed daily except on Wednesdays. The house also has a cafe and a dining area where visitors can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere by the canal. The surrounding neighborhood is a old community with a charming riverside vibe, where visitors can see traditional Thai houses, temples, and local shops. The area is also home to a 300-600 year old chedi, which is a rare and historic landmark
