Ftan is a former municipality in the district of Inn in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. It is located on a terrace above the left bank of the Inn river and consists of the village sections of Ftan Grond and Ftan Pitschen. The village has a rich history, with the first mention of Ftan dating back to 1150. The inhabitants of Ftan lived from arable farming until the middle of the 20th century, when the transition to livestock farming took place. In 1970, the first ski lifts were opened, and since then, winter tourism has increased rapidly. The village offers various activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and skiing, and is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, including the Val Tasna, the open Alp Laret, and the nearby peaks of Piz Minschuns and Piz Clünas. The trail from Ftan to Scuol is a popular route for backpacking, mountain biking, and running, and is considered an easy route, suitable for children. The village also has a bike adventure park and a mountain bathing lake, making it a great destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts
