Lauterbrunnen is a village and municipality in the Interlaken-Oberhasli administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. The municipality comprises several villages, including Wengen, Mürren, Gimmelwald, Stechelberg, and Isenfluh, as well as several other hamlets. The Lauterbrunnen Valley is located at the foot of the Bernese Alps and is notably overlooked by the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, and many other high peaks. The valley is drained by the White Lütschine and comprises the Soustal, the Sefinental, and the upper Lauterbrunnen Valley with Untersteinberg. The valley includes several glaciers and is a major tourist destination, with many outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and sledging. The village of Lauterbrunnen is surrounded by beautiful scenery, with 72 waterfalls, including the famous Staubbach Falls and the Mürrenbachfall. Visitors can enjoy the peace and quiet of the car-free mountain villages of Wengen and Mürren, and take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains
