The Basel Minster, also known as Basler Münster, is a stunning red sandstone church with colourful roof tiles and twin towers, making it a prominent landmark in the city of Basel. The church has a rich history, with its construction spanning several centuries, from 1019 to 1500, in Romanesque and Gothic styles. Visitors can climb the St George's or St Martin's tower for a spectacular view of the city and surrounding area. The church features a crypt, chancel, tomb of Erasmus of Rotterdam, Gallus gate, and two cloisters, showcasing a fascinating tale of construction over the centuries. The piazza where the Minster stands is a popular meeting place, often used for concerts and events, and the Pfalz, a terrace offering wonderful views over the Rhine, is one of the most popular viewpoints in the city
