Stångehuvud is a nature reserve located on the south tip of Stångenäset peninsula, adjacent to the town of Lysekil. The reserve is known for its red Bohus granite cliffs, which were formed about 920 million years ago and shaped by the ice during the last glacial period. The area is rich with glacial striations and features rounded cliffs with 'soft' forms and clear glacial scratches. Visitors can wander through the pristine granite landscape, which has been preserved thanks to the efforts of Calla Curman, who bought the land in the early 20th century to protect it from stone quarrying. The reserve offers beautiful views, walking trails, and opportunities for swimming and fishing. The flora is diverse, with about 230 species of vascular plants, including the common sea thrift flower. A lighthouse, built in 1890, is also located on the site and has been restored

Activities: We went to Stångehuvud naturreservat in Lysekil and hiked. It's a beautiful Bohuslän experience. We started our hike from Pinneviksbadet. The landscape is magical with granite shaped by water and wind. We enjoyed a 4 km long roundtrip, starting and ending in Lysekil
Highlights: The views were maginificent! We loved the vackra vyer, the salty sea smell, and the sunshine. "Our 6-year-old loved it and likes to climb, jump, run and go up and down." We even saw some fishermen catching fish ✨
