What to expect
Käringboda naturreservat is a nature reserve located in Nynäshamn, Stockholm County, Sweden. The reserve features a beautiful archipelago landscape with forests, fields, and coastlines, offering plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking and swimming. The area is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including the värmeälskande murgröna, a heat-loving plant with wintergreen leaves. Visitors can explore the reserve's many trails, enjoy the scenic views from the top of the hills, and pick blueberries in the summer. The reserve is also a great spot for birdwatching, with many species of birds inhabiting the area

Käringboda Nature Reserve (and Sweden's National Day!)
Activities: We went to Käringboda nature reserve for an outing. "Today was the children's challenge to collect at least five different kinds of animals during our visit." They managed to find an ant, two different kinds of spiders, a dragonfly, some kind of horsefly and a beetle. "Lagom till fikastunden släpptes alla kryp ut i friheten igen."
Highlights: The kids loved the challenge of finding different animals. It was a "rigtigt smultronställe" (a real gem!). We are planning to go back to swim and hopefully camp there in the future ✨
