Storforsen Nature Reserve is a landscape of unblemished forests riddled with streams and hiking trails. The eponymous Storforsen is the centerpiece of the park - a formidable 5-kilometer stretch of rapids that drops 82 meters, a majority of which forms a single, turbulent waterfall that crashes over the rocks. This is one of Europe's largest rapids, a magnificent expanse of roiling water that declares the wherewithal of the Pite River with a thunderous roar. The forests are teeming with wildlife, while birds of prey scour the water from above in search of easy pickings. There are well-marked hiking trails to explore and picnic spots where families gather to enjoy a meal amid the wilderness

Activities: We visited the Storforsen waterfalls, the largest natural rapids in Europe. There are walkways over the rapids, toilets, and a small shop/cafe. It's a great place for a picnic, with tables, benches, and even free wood for barbecues
Highlights: The kids loved seeing the impressive rapids and running around. The amenities made it easy for us to enjoy our time there. We would have stayed longer if we could! ✨
