It is the northernmost arm of the Baltic Sea and is divided into the Bothnian Bay and Bothnian Sea. The gulf is approximately 725 km long, 80-240 km wide, and has an average depth of 60 m. The city of Luleå is situated at the mouth of the Lule River, where it enters the Gulf of Bothnia, and is a great place to visit with family, offering a mix of sea bathing resorts, educational centers, and industrial activities. The surrounding region of Norrbotten is a county of contrasts, featuring Sweden's highest mountain, Kebnekaise, and its deepest lake, Hornavan
