Gränna Polarcenter

The Gränna Polarcenter is a museum showcasing the history of polar research, with a focus on the historical north pole expedition of Salomon August Andrée. The museum features exhibitions on historical polar expeditions, including the story of Andrée's ill-fated attempt to fly over the North Pole with a gas balloon. The Polarcenter also includes interactive exhibits, such as an interactive screen providing information on the course of historical expeditions, as well as the status of current expeditions. In addition to the polar exhibitions, the museum also explores the local history of Gränna, including the story of Amalia Eriksson, the 'inventor' of the traditional Swedish candy cane, Polkagrisar
