Swedish history comes alive at Jamtli

Swedish history comes alive at Jamtli
This family's experience:

Activities: We took a journey through yesteryear at Jamtli, a living history museum where actors re-create life in different eras. We explored the 1700s, 1895, 1956, the 70s, and even a 1942 farmyard. The kids loved the 70s exhibit with its plastic colours and the 1956 gas station with its attendant talking about the latest Volvo

Highlights: The kids enjoyed the whirligig swings and archery competition, while I found the Överhogdalsbonaderna Viking Tapestry fascinating. The interactive exhibits, like the children's traffic school, were a hit with everyone ✨

Things to do in Östersund during summer

Things to do in Östersund during summer
This family's experience:

Activities: We spent a whole day at Jamtli, which is like Jämtland's answer to Skansen in Stockholm. We explored the outdoor area with historic farms and animals. The children spent a long time at Hackåsgården, jumping on the hay bale and building in the woodshed, and loved Mejeriet, a play environment depicting a dairy from the beginning of the century. The indoor part includes exhibitions about Sami and Vikings

Highlights: The children's clear favorite was the outdoor area. They loved the historical settings, the animals, and the interactive activities like the hay bale jumping and the woodworking. “Our children lingered for a long time already at the first stop Hackåsgården”, and they really enjoyed the Mejeriet experience ✨
