What to expect

The Marinmuseum, also known as the Naval Museum, is a maritime museum located on Stumholmen island in Karlskrona, Sweden. The museum showcases the history of the Swedish Navy, with exhibits covering over 500 years of naval history, from the 16th century to the present day. The museum features a collection of figureheads, including many created by sculptor Johan Törnström, as well as models, paintings, and other artifacts related to the Swedish Navy. Visitors can explore the museum's underwater tunnel, which provides a view of the wreckage of several 17th-century ships, and see historic museum ships docked outside the museum, including a submarine and a sail training ship. The museum also offers family-friendly activities, such as the Cadet's Quarters, where children can experience life as a young sailor, and the Knot Workshop, where visitors can learn traditional sailing knots. The museum's restaurant, Bistro Skeppsgossen, offers a lunch and salad buffet with a view of the museum ships
