Yala National Park is a wildlife sanctuary and national park in Sri Lanka, known for its high concentration of leopards and other wildlife, including elephants, deer, and various bird species. The park is situated in the southeastern region of the country and covers an area of 978.807 km2. It is one of the most visited national parks in Sri Lanka and is home to several ancient civilizations, including the Sithulpahuwa and Magul Vihara Buddhist pilgrim sites.
