What to expect

Dondra Head Lighthouse is a lighthouse located on Dondra Head, the southernmost point in Sri Lanka. It is Sri Lanka's tallest lighthouse and one of the tallest in South East Asia. The lighthouse is operated and maintained by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. It was designed by Sir James Nicholas Douglass and constructed by William Douglass of the Imperial Lighthouse Service. The lighthouse is 49 meters high and has a focal height of 47 meters. It has a hyperradiant Fresnel lens and a range of 28 nautical miles. The lighthouse is also known for its historical and geographical importance, and it attracts numerous visitors from around the world. The surrounding area is also home to several other attractions, including the Dondra Fair and Perahera, which is held in the month of Esala (July-August)
