The Palais de Lowamahapaya, also known as the Brazen Palace or Lohaprasada, is a historic site located in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It was initially built during the reign of King Dutugemunu in the 2nd century BC and was a nine-storied monastic structure. The building was supported by 40 rows of 40 stone pillars, totaling 1600 pillars, most of which still remain standing today. The palace was destroyed and rebuilt several times, with the current remains dating back to the 12th century. The site features a modern chapter house used by the Maha Vihara monastic order and is a popular destination for Buddhist pilgrims visiting the nearby Ruvanvelisaya Dagaba and the Sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Tree. The Brazen Palace is known for its historical significance and architectural importance, with its 1600 pillars being a striking feature of the site
