Pigeon Island National Park is a marine national park located 1 km off the coast of Nilaveli, a coastal town in Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. The park consists of two small islands, Large Pigeon Island and Small Pigeon Island, and is home to a diverse range of marine life, including dozens of corals, hundreds of reef fish, and turtles. The island's coral reef is shallow, making snorkelling almost as satisfying as diving. The park is also an important breeding ground for rock pigeons and is home to other bird species. The island has no facilities, so visitors must bring their own food and water. The park is looked after by the Sri Lankan Navy, and entrance tickets can be purchased at the National Wildlife Park Office at Nilaveli Beach
