The Dambulla Cave Temples, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a sacred pilgrimage site and a World Heritage Site located in central Sri Lanka. The temple complex consists of five caves, which contain statues and paintings related to Gautama Buddha and his life. The caves are decorated with intricate patterns of religious images and have a total of 153 Buddha statues, as well as statues of Sri Lankan kings and gods. The temple is still functional and remains the best-preserved ancient edifice in Sri Lanka, making it a great place to visit for those interested in history, culture, and religion
