The Royal Palace of Madrid is a grand building with over 3000 rooms, including the Main Staircase, Throne Hall, Hall of Halberdiers, Gasparini Room, Royal Chemist's, and Royal Chapel. The palace also features the Royal Armoury, one of the most significant collections of its kind, and the Painting Gallery, which houses artistic treasures such as works by Velázquez, Goya, and Caravaggio. The Royal Kitchen, reopened in 2017, is the oldest well-preserved kitchen of a European royal residence. Visitors can also witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony. The palace's architecture is inspired by sketches made by Bernini for the Louvre in Paris and features a square floor plan with a large central courtyard
