The Montserrat Monastery is a Benedictine monastery situated in the Montserrat mountain, in the municipality of Monistrol de Montserrat, at an altitude of 720 meters above sea level. It is a symbol for Catalonia and has become a point of pilgrimage for believers and a must-visit destination for tourists. The monastery complex, along with its dependencies and annexed services, forms a small population center that had 68 inhabitants according to the 2006 census. The monastery is home to the Escolania de Montserrat, one of the oldest boys' choirs in Europe, and features a basilica, a museum, and a library. Visitors can explore the monastery's architecture, which includes Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and eclectic styles, and attend religious services or concerts
