Jameos del Agua

Cave Haría, Canary Islands, Spain

What to expect

Jameos del Agua is a series of lava caves and an art, culture, and tourism center located in the municipality of Haría in northern Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. It features a subterranean salt lake, restaurant, gardens, emerald-green pool, museum, and auditorium. The center is home to a unique and endemic species of squat lobster, the blind lobster Munidopsis polymorpha. Visitors can explore the natural auditorium with a capacity for 550 people, formed by basalt stone, and enjoy the harmony between art and nature. The site is also a great place for families to visit, with a café and restaurant, and facilities such as restrooms and a baby changing facility. However, it's recommended to wear comfortable footwear and be mindful of the sensitive ecosystem, as the blind lobsters are very sensitive to changes in the lagoon and can be harmed by noise, light, and oxide
