Cueva de Los Verdes

Cave Haría, Canary Islands, Spain

What to expect

Cueva de los Verdes is a unique lava tube and tourist attraction located in the Haria municipality on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. The cave was created around 3,000 years ago by lava flows erupting from the nearby volcano Monte Corona. It extends for 6 kilometers above sea level and 1.5 kilometers below the sea. The cave features a complex of tunnels and nooks with fascinating vaults and interior lagoons. Visitors can explore the cave and enjoy its unique environment, which includes a concert hall that hosts special concerts and cultural activities. The cave is also famous for its use as a refuge for the population against pirates and raiders in earlier centuries. Families can visit the cave, but it's not recommended for individuals with reduced mobility or those who suffer from claustrophobia. Baby strollers are not allowed, and pets are only permitted if they are assistance dogs
