Garachico is a quaint seaside town on the northern coast of Tenerife, with a population of just under 6,000 residents. The town is nestled at the foot of the often snow-capped peak of Mount Teide and is one of Tenerife's most peaceful, charming, and beautiful towns. Founded in 1496, Garachico was the first port in Tenerife and thrived as a major commercial hub until a 1706 volcanic eruption left much of the town destroyed. Today, the town is a living museum, maintaining its cultural and historical character. Visitors can explore the town's stunning natural surroundings, including black sand coves, cliffs, and verdant hillsides. The town's cultural scene boasts age-old traditions such as folk music, Canarian sports, artisan trades, and local festivals, including the traditional summer Romería de San Roque. Garachico also has two museums, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Island Museum of Natural Sciences. The town's beaches, such as El Muelle, La Caleta de Interian, and Las Aguas, offer a unique experience, and the natural pools of El Caletón are a must-see. Families can stroll through the town's pleasant plazas, visit the Castillo de San Miguel, and explore the town's many convents and churches, including the Convento de Santo Domingo and the Iglesia de Santa Ana
