Masca is a small mountain village on the island of Tenerife, located in the Macizo de Teno mountains. The village is home to around 99 inhabitants and lies at an altitude of 650 m. It was originally a Guanche settlement before the Spanish conquest in 1496. The village is surrounded by forests including cypresses and palm trees and is situated at the head of the Masca Gorge. A popular hiking route leads from the village down the gorge to the beach on the Atlantic Ocean, taking about 3 hours each way. The beach itself is an unspoilt beach located on a cliff of volcanic rocks, with gravel and dark sand, and calm waters. The village and its surroundings offer a unique and natural environment for visitors to explore

Activities: We visited Masca, reached by a winding road. We enjoyed the views of the Teno Mountains. We went in the late afternoon. We enjoyed the sunset over the Teno Mountains
Highlights: We were thrilled by Masca's location. We loved the palms and vegetation, and the rock formation, which is also called "Machu Picchu of the Canaries". We were happy to be there at the end of the day because there were fewer tourists around ✨
