Pollença is a town and municipality in the northern part of the island of Mallorca, near Cap de Formentor and Alcúdia. It lies inland, about 6 km west of its port, Port de Pollença. The town has a rich history, dating back to the Roman settlement of Pollentia, and has been a site of significant military confrontations throughout its history. The town's central square, Plaça Major, has numerous outdoor cafés and is dominated by a large 13th-century church, Esglèsia de Nostra Senyora dels Àngels. One of the town's most distinctive features is the 365-step stairway north of the square, which leads up to a chapel on top of the hill known as Calvary. The town also has a number of family-friendly attractions, including the Cala de San Vicente, a collection of calas with crystal-clear waters, and the nearby Cavall Bernat, a popular spot for hiking and exploration

Activities: We visited the historic Altstadt (Old Town) of Pollença and the Calvari-Treppe with its 365 steps. "It's worth it to look into the side streets." There is also a beautiful viewing terrace, the Mirador del Calvari, which we didn't want to miss
Highlights: We enjoyed the "very relaxing, authentic place" and the "easy and quick" walk up the Calvari steps. "Each stands for a day of the year." ✨
