Ronda is a municipality in the province of Málaga, Andalusia, known for its cliffside location and deep canyon that carries the Guadalevín River and divides the town. The town has a rich cultural and literary tradition, and is the home of modern bullfighting. Visitors can stroll through its streets, absorbing every detail of this ancient Arab 'medina' on the south bank of the Guadalevín river, and visit the 18th-century Puente Nuevo bridge, which straddles the 100m chasm below. Ronda is also famous for its dramatic escarpments and views, and for the deep El Tajo gorge that carries the rio Guadalevín through its centre. The bullring, Plaza de Toros, is now a museum, and visitors can stroll out into the arena. Ronda has no shortage when it comes to finding a place to eat, with restaurants and tapas bars located all around the town, some with terraces that provide an idyllic place to sit and enjoy local cuisine
