What to expect

The Museo Picasso Málaga is a museum showcasing the works of Pablo Picasso, with a collection of 285 works donated by members of Picasso's family. The museum is located in the Buenavista Palace, a 16th-century building that has been converted to house the museum. The collection ranges from early academic studies to cubism to his late re-workings of Old Masters. The museum also has a library and archive with over 800 titles on Picasso, as well as relevant documents and photographs. The building itself is a notable example of 16th-century architecture, with some elements of the original Nasrid palace still surviving. The museum makes major use of natural light, especially through skylights, and has a total floor space of 8,300 square meters
