Boulders Beach is a sheltered beach made up of inlets between granite boulders, located on the Cape Peninsula, in Simon's Town. It is home to a unique and endangered land-based colony of African Penguins. The beach is ideal for children, with immense boulders sheltering the cove from currents, wind, and large waves. The area has several small sheltered bays, partially enclosed by granite boulders, and is a popular spot for swimming and picnics. Visitors can view the penguins from a distance, using the wheelchair-friendly boardwalks that make their way through the dunes and dense vegetation. The penguin colony is protected, and visitors are advised not to touch or feed the penguins, as their beaks are sharp. The beach is patrolled by rangers, and there are restaurants and B&Bs in close proximity
