Olimje Castle, also known as Olimje Monastery, is a 16th-century castle located in the settlement of Olimje, part of the Municipality of Podčetrtek in eastern Slovenia. The castle has a rich history, having been rebuilt in the Renaissance style and converted into a monastery in the 17th century. Today, it is a Franciscan monastery that cares for pilgrims and tourists visiting the historic castle and pharmacy. The monastery features a beautiful Baroque church with an impressive altar, a pharmacy that still produces medicines from natural sources, and a well-kept garden where the monks grow their own herbs and medicinal plants. Visitors can also taste the monks' famous 'vicar drops', a harmonious herbal liquor made of twenty-eight herbs. The monastery is a must-visit destination for those interested in history, architecture, and nature
