Vlkolínec is a village in the centre of Slovakia, known for its well-preserved traditional log houses and folk architecture. The village has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993 and is one of ten Slovak villages that have been given the status of a folk architecture reservation. Visitors can see the old houses, dive into the history, and experience the traditional way of life. The village consists of more than 45 log houses, each made up of two or three rooms, and features a wooden belfry from the 18th century and a baroque chapel. The surrounding landscape is formed by narrow strips of fields and pastures with haylofts, protected from the north by the Sidorovo Hill. Families can enjoy hiking and biking in the neighbourhood, with trails such as the hike from Vlkolinec to Malino Brdo and the journey from Ruzomberok to Vlkolinec and back
