Chinatown, Singapore is a subzone and ethnic enclave located within the Outram district in the Central Area of Singapore, featuring distinctly Chinese cultural elements. The area has a historically concentrated ethnic Chinese population and retains significant historical and cultural significance, with large sections declared national heritage sites for conservation. Chinatown consists of four distinctive sub-areas: Telok Ayer, Kreta Ayer, Bukit Pasoh, and Tanjong Pagar, each developed at different times. The area is home to various cultural and historical landmarks, including the Chinatown Complex, which is located along Smith Street, and the famous Cantonese opera theatre Lai Chun Yuen
