What to expect

St. Petersburg is a city and port located in the Northwestern Federal District of Russia. It is the second-largest city in Russia and has played a vital role in Russian history since its founding in 1703. The city is known for its cultural, historical, and architectural landmarks, and is often referred to as the 'Venice of the North' due to its many waterways and canals. St. Petersburg is home to numerous famous sites, including the Hermitage, one of the largest art museums in the world, and the Lakhta Center, the tallest skyscraper in Europe. The city has a rich history, having been the capital of the Russian Empire for over two centuries and the site of the February and October Revolutions of 1917. St. Petersburg is also known for its 'White Nights', which occur from June 11 to July 2, when daylight extends to nearly 19 hours
