Kolomenskoye Park

Park Moscow, Central Federal District, Russia

What to expect

Kolomenskoye Park is a former royal estate located in the southern part of Moscow, on the bank of the Moscow River. The estate has a rich architectural heritage, including the Church of the Ascension, a UNESCO World Heritage monument, and the reconstructed wooden palace of Tsar Alexei. The park also features an open-air museum of historic wooden architecture, with buildings brought from all over Russia and re-erected here. Visitors can explore the park's many apple orchards, which cover a vast part of the estate, and are ideal for picnicking. The park's museum houses over two thousand Russian paintings from the 15th-17th centuries, as well as fragments of wood and stone carving and examples of the decorations of Moscow buildings that have now been lost

This family's experience:

Activities: We went to Kolomenskoye Park, the former summer residence of the tsars! We did sledding with 'lidianka' (a plastic plate) that we bought. There are also museums and churches

Highlights: We really enjoyed Kolomenskoye Park! We loved sledding there with the children. A very beautiful place, where Muscovites like to walk in summer and winter ✨
