Bâlea Lake is a glacier lake situated in the Făgăraș Mountains at an altitude of 2,034 m above sea level. The lake is 360 m long and its maximum depth reaches 11.3 m. It is a protected nature reserve and offers stunning scenery. There are two chalets and a meteorological station nearby. The area is also home to the first ice hotel in Eastern Europe, which was built in 2006. The lake is a great destination for families who love nature and the outdoors, with opportunities for hiking and exploring the surrounding mountains
