The Church Through the Spooky Covered Stairway

Church Sighișoara, Mureș, Romania

What to expect

The Church Through the Spooky Covered Stairway, also known as the Scholars' Stairs, is a historic site in Sighisoara, Romania. The stairs were built in 1642 to connect the lower and upper parts of the citadel, allowing people to reach the church and school easily in winter. Originally, there were 300 steps, but only 174 or 176 remain today. The stairs have become a popular tourist attraction, with a magical feeling when climbing them. The site is part of the Sighisoara Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe
