Mirador de Sao Lourenço

The Mirador de Sao Lourenço is a unique and imposing scenery with panoramic views over the north and south sides of the island. It is a volcanic peninsula, nine kilometers long, with a semi-arid climate and exposure to north winds, resulting in a landscape with creepers and no trees. The area is classified as a Partial Natural Reserve, with rare plants and diverse fauna, including protected sea birds. Visitors can hike the 6-kilometer round trip trail known as Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço to discover the natural and scenic richness of this peninsula.
