Cape St. Vincent, also known as Cabo de São Vicente, is a headland in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. It is the southwesternmost point of Portugal and mainland Europe. The cape is a site of exuberant marine life and a high concentration of birds nesting on the cliffs, such as the rare Bonelli's eagle, peregrine falcons, kites, rock thrushes, rock pigeons, storks, and herons. The cape has a dramatic landscape and breathtaking views, making it one of the not-to-miss places in the Algarve. Visitors can walk along the cliffs to faraway lookout points, and the best time to visit is at sunset on a clear day. The cape is closely associated with the sea, from ancient navigators to legends and myths, and is a magical place that combines nature, culture, and myth
