The Paço dos Duques de Bragança, also known as the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, is a medieval estate and former residence of the first Dukes of Braganza, located in the historical centre of Guimarães. The palace was initiated between 1420 and 1422 by Afonso, Count of Barcelos, and features a design inspired by typical French manor houses. It has undergone several restorations and now houses a museum with exhibits on the history of the palace and the Dukes of Braganza. The palace also features a collection of ancient weapons, 17th-century furniture, and four enormous tapestries depicting scenes from the arrival of the Portuguese in Arzila.
