Neptune's Fountain is a historic fountain located in Gdańsk, a Mannerist-Rococo masterpiece, and one of the most distinctive landmarks of the city. The fountain was constructed in the early 17th century and features a sculpture of Neptune, the Roman god of the sea, made of bronze by Gerd Benning. The fountain is decorated with a stem made from black tuff and is surrounded by an iron grate with the coats of arms of Gdańsk and Polish eagles. The fountain has survived many difficult periods, including World War II, and has been renovated several times to retain its original splendor.
