Churches Bialystok, Podlaskie Voivodeship, Poland

What to expect

The Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit in Białystok is a significant place of worship for the Eastern Orthodox community in the city. It is located in the Wysoki Stoczek district and can accommodate up to 3,000 people. The church was consecrated on May 16, 1999, and features a striking Byzantine architecture style with five domes. Its construction was a result of efforts by the Diocese of Białystok and Gdańsk to build a new church in the city, which began in the 1970s. The church is under the jurisdiction of the Białystok Deanery of the Diocese of Białystok and Gdańsk of the Polish Orthodox Church. Białystok has a notable Orthodox population, with around 50,000 believers, and the city is home to 13 Orthodox churches, including the Holy Spirit Orthodox Church, which is one of the largest in Poland and Europe
