Planty Park

Planty Park is a charming green space surrounding the Old Town of Kraków, full of monuments and serving as the lung of the city. The park has an area of 21 hectares and a length of 4 km, consisting of a chain of thirty smaller gardens designed in varied styles and adorned with numerous monuments and fountains. There are over twenty statues of noble historical figures in the park, including monuments to Nicolaus Copernicus, Jan Matejko, Queen Jadwiga, and King Wladyslaw II Jagiello. The park forms a scenic walkway popular with locals and tourists, and in summer, it is a cool and shady retreat from the nearby bustling streets. The park is also home to several plaques commemorating notable figures, and its historic sites are located along the Royal Road, which crosses the park from the medieval suburb of Kleparz to the Wawel Castle
