Huacachina is a village built around a small oasis and surrounded by sand dunes in southwestern Peru. The oasis is a popular destination for families, with activities such as sandboarding, dune buggy rides, and paddle boating on the lagoon. The lagoon is also believed to have therapeutic properties, and visitors can bathe in the waters or cover themselves in mud to cure ailments. According to legend, the lagoon was created by a beautiful native princess who fled the area, leaving behind her mirror, which turned into a lake. The surrounding sand dunes offer breathtaking views, especially during sunset. Visitors can also take a hike up to the top of the dunes, go on a vineyard tour, or explore the nearby Paracas National Reserve, Ballestas Islands, and Nazca Lines
