What to expect

The Museo Santuarios Andinos, also known as MUSA, is an archaeological museum located in the city of Arequipa, Peru. It was created on December 5, 1996, and is administered by the Universidad Católica de Santa María. The museum showcases a collection of artifacts found in the Andean highlands, including ceramics, textiles, metals, and organic materials, with a focus on the Inca culture. One of the main attractions is the mummy of 'Juanita, la niña del Ampato', a young girl who was sacrificed by the Incas and discovered in 1995. The museum has five exhibition halls, with over 70 objects on display, including the mummy of Juanita and other artifacts found in the Capac Cocha ritual. The museum aims to preserve and showcase the cultural heritage of the Andean region, and it receives around 100,000 visitors per year
