What to expect
The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is a Friday mosque located in Muscat, the capital city of the Sultanate of Oman. Completed in 2001 in a contemporary Islamic style, it is the largest mosque in the country and can accommodate 20,000 worshipers. The mosque features a central dome that is 50 meters above the floor, and the main musalla can hold over 6,500 worshippers. The interior is adorned with a large prayer carpet that contains 1.7 million knots and weighs 21 tonnes, as well as a 14-metre-high chandelier. The mosque's complex extends to cover an area of more than 40,000 square meters, making it a significant and impressive architectural landmark

After a short security check, we entered. We admired the size and the polished marble. We also looked at the prayer halls
