What to expect
Kragerø is a small coastal town and a cluster of islands located in Telemark. The town has a unique atmosphere with narrow streets and alleyways, and is surrounded by opportunities for an active holiday, including bicycle tours and scenic boat rides. The island of Jomfruland offers unique scenery and plenty of fun things to do, such as horseback riding and birdwatching. Kragerø's unique light has inspired many artists, including Edvard Munch, and the town is home to several galleries and museums, including the childhood home of Theodor Kittelsen, which is now a museum. In the summer, Kragerø is a popular holiday destination, and in the winter, it transforms into a beautiful, dreamlike Christmas Town with lots of lights highlighting the cosy, narrow streets and traditional wooden houses
