Preikestolen, also known as The Pulpit Rock, is a steep cliff that rises 604 meters above Lysefjorden. The cliff has an almost flat top of approximately 25 by 25 meters, offering breathtaking views. It is a popular tourist attraction, with over 300,000 visitors in 2024, and is known for its unique rock formation and stunning scenery. The hike to the top is approximately 3.8 kilometers long and takes around 3-4 hours to complete, depending on fitness level and experience. The path can be steep and demanding in places, especially in winter and spring when there is snow and ice. Alternative access is available via a path from Bratteli or by sailing through the Lysefjorden

Activities: We hiked to Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit Rock. The hike started with a steep climb through the forest, then continued over stone steps. We enjoyed the views of the Lysefjord and saw people from all over the world. We took a break for lunch at the Preikestolen Hütte before starting the hike
Highlights: The view from the top of the Preikestolen was amazing! We loved observing the boats in the water below and the changing clouds. The last kilometer was the most beautiful. We also loved that we could see the wild fjord landscape ✨
